Welcome to CPAN!

The Renfrew County Community Poverty Action Network

We are on a mission to reduce and relieve poverty in Renfrew County through coordinated collaboration informed by local insights and actioned by a caring network of people.

CPAN’s New  Network: THE VILLAGE

We have created an ultra-simple system for anyone who believes in the “village way” of community development - that we already have it all and everyone is needed to make it work.

Think of it like this - if everyone willing to help or needing help is like a star in the sky, CPAN’s network is like bringing them into shape, like the big dipper, connecting the dots to bring light to all unique arrangements of diverse people experiencing life differently.

By joining The Village you will simply be made aware of the smallest needs as they come forward to us. It might be to help fund a field trip, school lunch, make a friendship call to another parent, or donate a stroller - anything small that can be done to help. You can choose to respond or pass.

Give HelpGet Help

Our values are simple and action-oriented.

We freely share and invite connection with resources, people, and information.

We show that we care because we do and everyone matters.

We do our best to offer individualized moments of help and helping that are easy to access.

We strive to provide education and advocacy as accomplices in anti-oppression work.

At CPAN, we do this work by mobilizing programs and people in four key areas of focus:

1.

Distribution of relief programs - Tools for School (school supplies and footwear) and Operation Snowsuit (warm winter gear and boots)

3.

Community learning and sharing - Presentations, workshops, training and community consultations that help people learn that ending poverty requires a community response

2.

Connection between local people -  The Village, our Give Help, Get Help network enables small moments of helping to take place when it is needed off-program

4.

Collaboration and strategic action -Working with key partners who are resourceful, values-driven and are also accomplices to anti-oppressive work
